Online NewsThe Latest Technology Gears Local Orthopedic Group for the FutureOrthopedic Associates of Arkansas, OAA, announces the implementation of their new digital imaging solution, called "Image Portal", and they are now a part of only 10% of all the orthopedic practices in the country to provide this type of technology. What Image Portal does is provide OAA surgeons with a completely digital, filmless image viewing and manipulation solution for their practice locations. Both surgeons and patients benefit from less retakes, as well as the ability to view their x-rays in a digital format. Image Portal makes it possible for a surgeon to eliminate the hassles associated with film, instantly assess patient images, and allows the patient better opportunity to clearly see and understand the medical issues of concern.When asked about investing in costly technology at a time when physician reimbursement has trended downward for a number of years, Michael Brooks, Administrator, stated,"While it is true that most physician groups don't invest in this type of technology because it is not considered a means of making more money, it is an investment for our patients in the form of better outcomes, enhanced efficiency and effectiveness. Practice Growth Warrants A Name ChangeIn addition to the new and latest technology, OAA has recently experienced a name change and a new logo. For the better part of 24 years OAA was primarily known as Orthopedic Associates of Hot Springs. The portion referring to “Hot Springs” was changed to "Arkansas" to be more reflective of the geographical coverage that the group’s physicians represent. A new logo was created to compliment the change in name along with a descriptive statement, "Where Quality of Life Is Restored Through Quality Outcomes", that represents both the results and the sensitive and caring goals by the staff and physicians. |
